Can't believe I made it to work today. Late last night Abbey was having an allergic reaction to a raspberry she tasted, she didn't even eat it. Hubby noticed her scratching at the back of her neck, he noticed a bit of a rash. Since she has baby eczema I took her to the room to apply some hydrocortisone only to discover her upper body was covered in hives. Now as a first time mom you'd think I'd be super freaked out, but I'm surprised at how calm I remain in situations like this, being that it's my first rodeo. So as I applied the cream I called Kaiser's advise nurse, she asked me a bunch of questions one sticking to the back of my brain.....IS SHE BREATHING? Yes infact she was, she was actually walking around, jumping on the bed, climbing on papa, being her usual self only crimson in color. So the nurse told me to give her some Benadryl. If that didn't work and symptoms worsen, bring her in. Hubby went to 24hr Walgreens, came back, Abbey had the medicine, which she is very good at taking by the way. SHE fell asleep, hubby fell asleep, and there I was wide awake, listening to her breathe. All the while googling allergic reactions to raspberry. Got up a couple of times to check the rash, wasn't getting better but definitely not getting worse. After debating for awhile, I got up for work, I checked her.........rash was gone, completely, like nothing ever happened! And now here I am wishing I had stopped and gotten some coffee. P.S. I noticed I started this blog a year ago, and contributed absolutely nothing, I will try and post more often before baby #2, no baby #2 is not on the way yet, but hoping for a Summer 2013 baby =]
